Today I want to share a few mottos that my dad made for my family, so that we all live life to the fullest and make every day count. I hope you enjoy and strive to attain these qualities each day!
1) Honor God by loving Him and Loving Others
Matthew 22:35-40
“‘Teacher, which is the greatest
commandment in the Law?’ Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your
heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and
greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as
yourself.’”
Love God. Love people. And by doing these two things we have the ability
to come together as a Body of Christ and do great things for the Kingdom of
God.
2) Do the Right Thing
Matthew 5:48
“Be perfect, therefore, as your
Heavenly Father is perfect.”
No one is perfect – only God is perfect. But we are called to try to be
perfect. Don’t ever justify wrong doings saying no one is perfect because we
are all supposed to strive to be perfect and Do as God would in situations.
3) Always Give Your Best
Philippians 3:13
“Brothers and sisters, I do not
consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting
what is behind and straining toward what is ahead…”
We are called to always press onward towards the goal. Forget about past
mistakes and past actions but push forward always trying to improve – always
giving your best.
4) Know you Can
Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through
Christ who strengthens me”
Nothing can separate you from God, and with God inside you, ALL THINGS
ARE POSSIBLE! BELIEVE THAT! Know that you have God inside you, and you can move
mountains in this world! Believe in your talent, believe in your skill, believe
in yourself, and show the World what you are made of – Giving God the Glory.
5) Dance
John 10:10
“I have come that they may have
life, and have it to the full”
Finally
– Take EVERY opportunity! This is from the song by Lee Ann Womack “I hope you
Dance” In the song, she expresses that you should always be looking for the
open door ahead. Always look for opportunities and always take the opportunity.
Life is meant to be lived to the fullest. We only have one life, so do
everything you can and want.
Most people have the idea that Christianity is about a set
of rules to follow; rather, Life is about being transformed by God and letting
him be the ruler of our life. It is about setting our Hearts on fire for God
and living through Christ! These five things are simple things, but they make a
big difference in your life.
If you
are living for God, doing the right thing, giving your best effort, believing
in yourself, and taking every opportunity you can, then you are living life as
God calls us to live.
