  • Life Lately: Roomie was back in Town!

My roomie came back in town.

Last weekend, one of my best gal pals, Sam, came back into town after leaving to do travel nursing at the end of last year!

Though unfortunately we aren’t roomies any more (thanks travel nursing), there is something special about once being roomies that carries a continuity.

It was such a joy to see her again and to hear of all her travel adventures! Sam and I lived together for a little less than a year, and she and I met when we both began our nursing careers.

Starting in the working world after college, there is a lot of anxiety that comes with it! She was one of my first friends in my brand new job starting my nurse residency program. She helped me grow and learn to adult and do the whole floor nursing thing! Thanks Sam for being my go-to girl and being by my side as we learned the ropes of being Registered Nurses!

While she was here, we went to all of her favorite food places! She is an expert on the fabulous food places here in Nashville!

We started with Milk & Honey in the Gulch, which was so fabulous and I highly recommend it. I got their Turkey and brie sandwich, but they have great breakfast, brunch, and lunch options. They also have signature drinks: coffee, teas, cocktails, etc.

Their food, the area, the ambiance, the people: ALL FAB!

If you are in the area, GO! Read more and see their menu by clicking here.

However, show up early to put your name in, and be prepared for a wait. Thankfully, there are cool spots and shops around to entertain while waiting.

The Gulch is a hot spot in Nashville, and I was reassured of that being down there that day. As a Nashville native, I am not always doing the hip activities at the touristy sites. It was BAFFLING to me how many people cover the streets walking, shopping, taking pictures, and enjoying themselves even in the midst of how crowded it is. Everyone is living up the Nashville life, no matter how long the lines may be. It was an eye opener for me!

There were drinks and a pool involved after our brunch that turned into a lunch (thanks milk and honey for being amazing but also SO busy!).

We ended the evening at Sam’s other favorite Nashville place: Party Fowl!

This is a Nashville Famous HOT CHICKEN place! I am a wimp and get their southern fried with NO HOT SPICE! However, my boyfriend gets all the spice, and says it is one of the best hot chicken places. Not to mention their drinks and cocktails: craft beers and signature cocktail slushies! I LOVE their cherry limeade slush!

MY TWO FAVORITES! One of the biggest blessings to God opening the doors to Saint Thomas West Residency Program was the people that I met. They have become my very best friends, and in the midst of work, you NEED people there that relate to how crazy and stressful days can be. I am so thankful for them! Thank you JESUS!

I hope everyone had a great weekend last weekend and this weekend!

    TGIF, am I right?!

    Happy Friday!

    Love always,

    Katie Girl
