It is hard to believe that February is coming to a close. Wasn’t it just February 1st and that was mind blowing?! Time goes fast, and time is precious.
February was a good month for me with many memories made. The month included: the Super Bowl (doesn’t that feel like forever ago?!), SNOW, sunshine, the start of “That’s how We Nashville” features, LOVE and Valentines, travel and snowboarding, shopping and try ons, exploring Nashville, family Sundays, and Bachelor watch parties with friends.
Started day 1 of the month seeing my girl Holly to get my hair done. I went a little darker, but nothing too bold. I can’t give up my blonde! Haha.
Also the real MVP of the Super Bowl was this co-worker of mine: Christina! She came in for the last half of my work shift so that I could go to a Super Bowl party and see the full game!
We had a Super Bowl watching party, but the highlight was the cutest golden retriever puppy! It brought back all the memories of when my golden retriever, Madi, was a pup!
I also revamped the “That’s how we Nashville” feature series! I will be featuring a Nashville resident under KatieGirlHere Instagram every Friday as a way to celebrate and encourage other people and their talents!
Also my faith based blog post included this quote, and the post is linked here.
February was filled with many days of quiet time, emails, writing, journaling, reading, etc. at Starbucks. My very favorite day off past time!
I am currently reading “Every Good Endeavor: Connecting Your Work to God’s Work” by Tim Keller, and it is an incredible read! I will post a review after I finish the book, and I am working on a post about some of the points that Keller makes.
The book changes your whole perspective of work, and that is one thing I have learned that can shape our attitudes. We can’t change the curveballs thrown our way, but we can change our perspective of those curveballs to keep a joyful attitude in the midst of hard work.
February included many weather changes! We had SNOW! YAY! But we also had many sunshine, warmer weather days. Nashville weather doesn’t quite know whether to hold onto winter or move to spring time! At least we got a pretty snow day out of it!
With the changing weather came many changing of outfits! These outfits can be shopped if you go to this page here or on the LIKEtoKNOW.it app.
I also got really into Valentine’s Day this year with Valentine’s Day nails, new clothes, and sending out Valentine’s Day packages!
I had to work on Valentine’s Day, but it didn’t stop me from celebrating. I did a lot of celebrating before and after Feb 14th. Then at work, you just got to throw on some decor for the day, and fake it til you make it. Shoutout to my co-workers for being the best!
Along with getting some new clothes and outfits this month, I got some new makeup products!
I finally caved and tried Tarte Shape Tape—this stuff will change your life! I would see a lot of people recommending the product, but I was skeptical at first. However, I should have tried this stuff a long time ago! It is the absolute best, and I will not be stopping using this anytime soon. It is hands down the best concealer I’ve ever used!
I also bought two other new things to me: SmashBox lip liner. I have never used lip liner, so I just went with SmashBox randomly. I like it so far, but I haven’t ever tried anything else. Any recommendations on favorite lip liners?
The last thing I needed that I had never used was a brow pencil, and I came across Anastasia Dipbrow Gel, which I am currently loving. However, I don’t know anything different!
All this was from Ulta and linked above when I talk about the product.
The highlight of February was my snowboarding trip to Cincinnati with my boyfriend, Trenton. We went to Perfect North Slopes, and it was so great to be back on the snowboard! I learned on these slopes two years ago, and I’ve always loved skiing before learning to snowboard! I went to Colorado in February of last year (that trip’s post linked here).
We stayed in Cincinnati, which was about 30 minutes from Perfect North.
I love snowboarding, and I’ve thought about buying myself my own board. For now, I just rent, but if I get more consistent about going every year, I might buy one! Next month, I am going to Montana for more snowboarding! I am so excited!
We had a great trip, but it was beautiful to see the Nashville skyline driving home.
February consisted of many roomie Bachelor watch party nights!
Also I didn’t know these was a day for this, but February might be my new favorite month because of this:
Also February has National Margarita Day! I celebrated at Chuy’s! And it never disappoints.
I also played tourist in my own city exploring downtown Nashville and snapping some photos. Nashville is growing and growing exponentially everyday, so it was nice to be downtown seeing changes.
I am ending the month with two work shifts tomorrow and Saturday, but also ending with a few FUN things—I am placing an order for some NEW “That’s How we Nashville” gear! Be on the lookout for that launch! It will be more than just tshirts and some fun things for summer time!
I hope everyone had a fabulous February! And if you didn’t, its a new month! I pray that March is better for you!
